Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using an Internet connection. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to acquire cash. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced bettors are able to select the most beneficial ones every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further hand is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
